Seismic performance of self-centering hybrid coupled wall systems: Preliminary assessments

چکیده

Hybrid Coupled Wall (HCW) systems consist of reinforced concrete walls connected with steel coupling beams. HCWs benefit from the superior lateral stiffness walls, while mechanism reduces moment demand at base walls. The present study investigates seismic performance a new HCW system equipped friction-damped self-centering beams and examines efficiency in reducing residual deformations. intended links, which can be easily repaired after severe earthquake events. utilized this features following advantages distinguish it conventional solutions: (i) eliminates elongation problem (ii) facilitates application pre-fabricated components to mitigate uncertainties raised by post-tensioning connections on site. In paper, behavior proposed load-bearing is investigated under several ground motion records intensities. It demonstrated that applied has capacity minimize earthquake-induced deformations repair time without increasing damage level expected for HCWs.
